Do you want a relaxing, cozy place to spend an evening? Would you prefer to hear some jazz while you taste your wine, or have a cup of coffee and eat De Mayors special?

Yes, theres a place right here in our town of Sumter. Drews Blues Café.

I usually go in to hear the Jazz Group, or Robert Gibb on a Friday or Saturday of each month. Then there are other times that I go in and recite some Poetry during Open MIC on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Initially, in April 2006 Drews Blues Café was located in the Old Colony Sq with seating for 16. Once Marcus Huggins brought the Café he his vision was to expand and he did to 20 seats. Still he wanted more!

Well at the new location, that opened November 2006, Drews Blues Café seats 75, located at Market Place (across the street from Staples) has 2 decorated round tables (with a personal flair of writing by the employees), centered tables and along the outer wall has several booths that are also painted and the décor hmmmm, cool!

Guitars (donated by a close friend ~ unnamed), art work by Marcus Huggins, and Black and White prints of many musical artist, let me also mention the cool lighting.

Do you play an instrument? Feel free to join them on Friday night open jam session (headed up by Alan Hinnant) for musicians of any and all levels. Come and play your heart out; while the audience applauses you on. 

A little about Mr. Huggins, married to Cheryl and has a son Drew ~ Go Figure!
Marcus loves music and art and has some of his own works on the front wall of the café! Marcus and Cheryl love greeting (personally) their guests and ensuring that everyone is satisfied with the atmosphere and food.

Looking for something different, great food, good cheese cake, & music ~ but not a lot of smoke and not too noisy
